WWE: 5 Most Dangerous Current Finishers

4. STF

Moves like the Walls of Jericho, the Crippler Crossface, and the Sharpshooter were staples of some of wrestling's greatest superstars. Unlike a Chokeslam or a Stunner, a submission finisher is usually utilised (or held) for an extended period of time. This allows the crowd to go crazy and root for their favourite superstar to reach the ropes, or get their opponent to tap. For that reason, submission finishers are some of the most entertaining moves wrestlers perform. Most submission holds are potentially dangerous, but as long as the superstar can balance safety, "the sell", and showmanship, a submission finisher can turn a bad match into a great match. The STF is an imposing looking finisher. Used by the WWE€™s lead superhero John Cena, it requires Cena to wrench his opponents face while bending one of his opponents legs back towards their head. There is no denying that Cena is a huge dude; he is by far one of the strongest superstars on the WWE roster right now, and with that in mind, it€™s strange in theory and in practice that he uses such a physical submission hold. There are times when Cena locks in the STF and you really wonder whether his opponent is actually in tremendous pain. Cena€™s been known to botch moves and disregard his opponent's safety; a big man like him should use more physically impacting moves like the AA because of the inherent danger of submission finishers and the inherent danger of him being John Cena. Otherwise, a misstep could spell disaster for his adversary's neck or knee. And as we all know, those are two injuries which are potential career-enders.
