4. Ricky Steamboat
Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever set foot in a ring, you can take that to the bank. It's crazy to think his first stay in WWE was just three years long, because of the impact he managed to achieve on the promotion. Steamboat was originally a NWA guy having many great matches with Ric Flair. Steamboat came to the WWE in 1985, this is where he got his karate kid like gimmick. Steamboat had a memorable feud with Jake Roberts before his greatest moment in WWE at Wrestlemania 3 where he won the Intercontinental championship from Randy Savage in a match often considered one of the greatest in WWE history. Steamboat would however announce his retirement in 1988 thus leaving the WWE, this was short lived and Steamboat soon made his return in WCW and NWA promotions. After a short lived return to WWE, Steamboat set up camp in WCW where he won the Television title, USA title and Tag Team championships before getting sacked by Eric Bischoff. Steamboat would announce his immediate retirement, however would play a role in TNA during this time. His WWE return in 2009 may have been short lived, but it should not be forgotten, Steamboat still had it! After nearly 15 years away from the ring, Steamboat stepped into the ring alongside Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka against Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania XXV. Although Snuka and Piper looked a bit worn and found it hard to move around the ring, Steamboat looked great, his patented arm drags hit with real sting and even hit a cross body off the top rope, Steamboat really saved the match and the fans wanted to see more. Steamboat would have 'one more match' at Backlash where he would face off against Chris Jericho again, the match in my opinion should go down as an all time classic, a match between a hall of famer and a future hall of famer from different generations really is unique. Since his last match in WWE, Steamboat has gone on to make sporadic appearances, including be attacked by the Nexus where he legitimately got hurt. He has wrestled one more time with with his son, in a low key Puerto Rican promotion. His son, Ricky Steamboat Jr. is currently in WWE developmental.
