The icon himself Shawn Michaels, Mr. Wrestlemania. Michaels broke into the WWE scene with his tag team partner Marty Jannetty as part of the The Rockers, a high flying, exciting youthful act. However they never officially won the Tag Team Title and broke up after Michaels superkicked Jannetty and threw him through a window. After this Michaels adopted the name Heartbreak Kid and became a heel and found instant success beating The British Bulldog for the Intercontinental championship. HBK would go on winning championships for the whole of his career, winning the Intercontinetal Championship on two more occasions, Tag Team Championship with Diesel and Steve Austin, the European Championship and the WWE title on three separate occasions furthermore winning the Royal Rumble twice becoming the first man to win the rumble from the number one spot. Michaels is one of the most decorated superstars of all time, he has also had legendary feuds with Bret Hart with culminated in the infamous Montreal Screwjob, he also formed one of the most successful factions in WWE history D-Generation X and was part of the first Hell in a Cell match with The Undertaker. However that feud would go sour for HBK as he injured his back during a casket match which put him out of ring action for five years. Michaels' return to the ring was exciting for the wrestling fans as they believed it would never happen. The first match back he had was at Summerslam 2002 against Triple H, his real life best friend. The success of the match put Michaels in line for a realistic chance of claiming WWE gold again. Michaels would win the first ever Elimination Chamber match at Survivor Series, another first for Shawn Michaels. Michaels went on to perform out of his skin in multiple matches, stealing the show at many pay-per views such as Wrestlemania XIX when he scored a victory in a great match against Chris Jericho. HBK also reunited DX with Triple H in a entertaining feud if not a little ridiculous with the McMahons and Spirit Squad. The legacy with Shawn Michaels comeback came with the two Undertaker matches at Wrestlemania XXV and Wrestlemania XXVI, these matches were legendary in their psychology and performance, both wrestlers put on a a wrestling masterclass and it was a perfect ending to HBK's illustrious career.
