WWE: 5 Most Successful Comebacks

2. Hulk Hogan

hulk hogan Hulk Hogan is never going to win awards for his in ring style, however for entertainment and popularity you'll be hard pressed to find another wrestler better than the Hulk. Hogan first appeared in WWE 1979 however after a few years in Japan, he returned to WWE as just the right time for a second stint in 1983. Describing Hogan's second stint in WWE is almost impossible to do in a paragraph, however I'm going to give it a go. In Hulk Hogan's second stint in WWE, he would headline nine Wrestlemania's, become WWE champion on five different occasions and win two Royal Rumble matches. Hulk Hogan simply became wrestling, he was the most famous wrestler there had ever been, and arguably to this day is still the most famous. After feuds with Vince McMahon, resulting in Hogan testifying against McMahon in a steroids trial, Hogan left WWE with intentions of becoming a movie star. However as fate would have it, a lucrative deal from WCW swayed Hogan back into wrestling and Hulk Hogan would become Hollywood Hogan being the figurehead of the most popular and largest faction in wrestling history. After WCW collapsed under its own weight, Hogan became a free agent. He finally signed up for a third stay in WWE in 2002 alongside his NWO partners Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. A feud with The Rock set up a dream match at Wrestlemania X8, that tore down the house. This brought an end to the NWO angle and Hogan would become a face again and don the familiar red and white colors of Hulkamania. Hulk Hogan would go on to win the WWE Undisputed Championship from Triple H and win the Tag Team title belt with Edge. Hogan would also have a great feud with Shawn Michaels at Summerslam before leaving WWE. The reason this comeback was such a success is because fans really got behind Hulk Hogan, whether it was out of nostalgia or respect or a bit of both, Hulk Hogan had one last ride at the top. Since leaving WWE the Hulkster has become a business parter of Dixie Carter, he plays a big part backstage in TNA because of this. Hogan has been both criticized and praised for his role in TNA, much like he has in his whole career at WCW and WWE. Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke has also played an active role as a talent in TNA being part of storylines with her father and TNA knockouts.
