WWE: 5 Most Underrated/Misused Current Superstars

1. Antonio Cesaro

Antonio Cesaro I'll admit this pick is both bias and deserving. Antonio Cesaro is the most underrated and misused wrestler in WWE today. Now the bias part comes from the fact that Cesaro is one of my favorite wrestlers right now. So naturally he would slip to the top of most of my countdowns. But objectively speaking, I hope we can agree that WWE has done nothing but misuse him. Fact: Antonio has worked for a variety of well-respected wrestling promotions including Ring of Honor. Does that entitle him to anything? No. Just ask CM Punk and Dean Ambrose. Fact: Cesaro is one of the most gifted wrestlers in terms of pound-for-pound strength on the roster. Does that entitle him to anything? No. And while Cesaro's mic skills are average or slightly above average, he is the most entertaining wrestler in the ring every night he wrestles. While his story lines have been pretty lacking (The Real Americans story line has no direction or support) he gives his all no matter who he faces. Just check out his Main Event matches, they're better than most PPV matches. But his best trait, and what makes him the most underrated wrestler in WWE, is his move set. If you haven't watched it already you should watch the video posted above. It displays only 6 of his best moves. While they are impressive, the video actually excludes my two favorites (1. A suplex from the second rope from the apron over the ropes to the ring, and 2. what looks like a forward Angle Slam). He is nothing but pure unadulterated power and an ideal worker€”he is small and quick enough to have good matches with speedy wrestlers, and powerful enough to go toe to toe with heavyweights. And though his finisher can't come out of nowhere as I prefer (The Superkick, RKO, Stunner) the leverage he gets from the Neutralizer allows him to perform it on ANYONE (Looking at you again Great Khali). The bottom line is that Cesaro is a mix of Bret Hart, Lex Luger, and Tazz. A flawless performer, a powerhouse, and an expert at a move set that no one else can emulate. If you have the time, look up some of his best matches from Main Event or elsewhere. I promise you won't be disappointed. I suggest you start with the Daniel Bryan match on RAW where Cesaro was the second opponent in a three man gauntlet (sorry that kind of ruins the ending). What I hope these matches will show you, is that every second this man is not involved in a compelling story line, acting as a jobber, or not in the running for a championship, his talents are being wasted and so is our time. Did I miss someone? Did I include someone who is undeserving? Sound off below and let me know!
