4. CM Punk's Unexplained Absence
If you think about it, this is the storyline that should have been associated with the Summer of Punk back in 2011. When I say that WWE is learning from their mistakes, I will reference Money in the Bank 2011 as the first example. Although it was held in Chicago and made for a hell of a show, it was clearly rushed. That particular story arc came and passed in the course of 6 weeks, and that's being generous. With the momentum Punk generated three years ago, WWE could have lasted on his appeal for months and months, if not years and years. If anyone is going to come to Daniel Bryan's aid in order for him to land a spot in the WrestleMania main event, it will be CM Punk. Remember their small stint as a tag team toward the latter part of last year? Again, that's just a preliminary taste of what's to come on WWE's part. CM Punk is not gone from WWE, last week's RAW and its constant references to Punk made that obvious. A strange amount of people have become convinced that Punk is truly gone because he did not show up in Chicago. The fact is that Punk's return to help Bryan would've been way too cliche to happen in Chicago. It also would've been arguably too early to pull that trigger. If the main event is Batista vs. Orton vs. Bryan, they need to keep Bryan's insertion into that match a secret for as long as possible. Punk will come back to save Bryan, but not for a little while, the storyline would get spoiled too soon otherwise.
