WWE: 5 Reasons Why Jake Roberts Deserves Hall Of Fame Spot

2. A Reward For Overcoming His Demons

I fear to say it too loudly, but it finally appears that Jake "The Snake" Roberts has overcome the demons that have so-often haunted his personal life. Yes, Jake "The Snake" was a big-time player in the wrestling industry of the late 1980s and early 1990s, but there is always the feeling that Jake never reached the heights that he could've. Whether it was his first WWF run, his brief WCW stay, his return to the WWF or any of his various other stays in other companies, Roberts' in-ring ability was matched by his self-destruction and addictive personality, particularly where drugs and alcohol were concerned. After what seems like a life-time worth of rehab stints, it finally, finally, finally seems that Jake Roberts is clean and sober for good. With the help of long-time friend Diamond Dallas Page, Roberts is at a stage where he is looking healthier than he has in a long while. Having shed considerable weight, maintained sobriety and with a new-found resolve, Roberts is on top in the biggest battle of his life. The life of an addict is one that is littered with temptation, but here's hoping that Jake can stay clean and use his brilliant mind to assist the wrestling business in some way, shape or form in the future. For a man that has struggled so much to get his life back on track, Jake Roberts' inclusion in the WWE Hall of Fame is way overdue.
