2. Taking A Step Back
At Wrestlemania 30, John Cena, the true face of WWE and biggest star since The Rock will be wrestling Bray Wyatt. A guy that wasn't on the roster ONE YEAR AGO. John Cena is taking a step back to allow Daniel Bryan to flourish with The Authority storyline seemingly reaching its apex. John Cena could have flat out refused to do this and been justified. Quite frankly this still could close the show. He headlined the last two Wrestlemanias, that were on the short list of most successful WWE events EVER. By the way, HE WAS WRESTLING THE ROCK! To go from The Rock, to a man that was known as Husky Harris from Nexus before re-emerging as a backwoods cult leader, is something no one saw coming 365 days ago. Cena is his own event at this point, and should be commended for not demanding the spotlight at all times. Even in 2012, when people say he overshadowed CM Punk in the main events of Pay-Per-Views, they failed to realize it was part of the storyline. Had WWE not booked it that way, we never get the CM Punk heel turn to revitalize his reign, and he definitely loses the title before 434 days pass. Its hard to imagine Hulk Hogan in the 1990's, taking a backseat to allow the best thing in the company happen without him. Cena will look to make Wyatt in the same manner Bret Hart looked to make Stone Cold Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 13. Whether that happens or not is to be determined, but being able to "step down" while bringing someone up is a trait that is normally respected. Will Cena get credit for this?
