WWE: 5 Reasons John Cena Should Have Already Earned Your Respect

1. Wrestling The Next Generation Of Stars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZjItEOTuq4 When thinking of the list of top guys since Hulk Hogan, there are only a few. Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and John Cena. John Cena trumps them all when it comes to helping cement the next generation of stars. Hulk Hogan never wanted to put over Bret Hart, he went with Yokozuna instead. Austin never did the honors for Brock Lesnar, he decided to go home, then wrestled Rock in his last match. The Rock while better than Hulk and Austin in this respect, didn't do this as a regular competitor. He was already a legend on a reduced schedule when he came back to work with CM Punk and John Cena. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jymC3UkMuGU Cena is still in his prime, working a full schedule and having classics out the blue on Monday Night Raw with guys like Antonio Cesaro. In his championship ascension promo, he made mention of his willingness to work with the guys no one else wanted to shine. Like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler and now Bray Wyatt. Cena has a better sense of his surroundings, and the need to elevate the next crop of stars than anyone. Cena's shelf life as a top guy from this point depends on the level of guys he faces. It's his job to make them seem important, or he'll be fighting Randy Orton for the next 5 years. It's almost a trade off. Cena wrestles a guy, and whether in a win or loss the opponent comes out better for it in most cases. Chris Jericho isn't the only person that should earn respect for doing this. John Cena's time is now, and fortunately he's making great use of it. The only full time star he came in with near his level is Randy Orton. Lesnar, Jericho, and Taker are part timers, HHH is behind a desk, Edge is retired, and Batista isn't the guy he was. Sooner or later, people will look up and realize John Cena never left, he didn't sulk at questionable booking, and he helped the next generation while remaining the man. But Cena sucks still right? Gotcha. Has John Cena earned your respect? Let us know below.
