WWE: 5 Reasons Why A John Cena Heel-Turn Won't Solve Anything
4. He Still Can't Wrestle
Turning him heel would be a good start to making John Cena matches more interesting. Teaching him more than five moves is something I'd make the next highest priority. Everyone reading this knows the routine. Shoulder Block. Shoulder Block. Spinning Side Slam. Five Knuckle Shuffle. Attitude Adjustment. All good? Lets go home! To be fair I actually think the "five moves of doom" would fit the heel Cena perfectly. Imagine the heat he could get with each move, pausing between each one to smirk at the fans and revel in the boos. The fans are sick of his routine, and he knows it. Unfortunately the problem doesn't end with his five moves. Cena never sells any of his opponents moves for more than thirty seconds. He kicks out of finishers like they don't hurt him. Submission moves don't affect him apparently. He can climb a ladder with Dolph Ziggler on his back applying a sleeper hold. Crawling to ropes is too much work for Super Cena, he would rather just stand up and lift his opponent up with him while the hold his still applied. Fans know wrestling is fake but we want to forget that when we watch. How can we do that when John Cena can't make his opponents offense look real? Then there's his offense! On the off chance that Cena decides to deviate from his five moves of doom, he rarely times anything properly. Over the years we've seen him temporarily use one of the most awkward looking dropkicks in history, a gut-wrench suplex with about as much grace as a sack of potatoes on a trampoline, and a top rope leg drop that he almost never connects with. And consider this: as a heel, Cena would be required to use such heat building techniques as headlocks and sleeper holds, so he and his opponents can catch a rest and communicate the next sequence, (Something Cena can always be heard doing in plain sight of the camera!) I don't want to see any John Cena matches full of headlocks. Although at least his opponent would sell them better than him.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
