They are both of Mexican and American decent. Both of them cut their teeth in the Mexican promotion AAA. Most importantly both of them are brilliant in ring performers. Del Sol has a traditional Lucha training, but combines this with an American style of performance, to be the full package as a WWE superstar. He can spring off the ropes, over the ropes, and around the ring with the best of them, but is also able to slow down his pace and wrestle more traditional matches. Something not all Lucha wrestlers have been able to do. Samuray Del Sol has been recently signed to NXT and renamed Kalisto, but most fans know him by his previous moniker Samuray Del Sol. He combines speed and technical precision with an incredible originality, making him immediately stand out from the host of other high flying stars on the independent circuit. His appearances in Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Dragon Gate USA, two of the top independent federations, have been nothing short of superb, and it surprised no one when he was picked up by the WWE. The move is a springboard reverse Frankensteiner, and if the WWE were to let him keep using it would blow some fans minds.
