2. Stone Cold Steve Austin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Od88SJpy4M Many felt that the WWE missed a trick by not announcing that Stone Cold Steve Austin's match with The Rock at WrestleMania XIX would be his last. But it was, like Edge, Austin had neck problems which stemmed from the injury he suffered at the hands of the late Owen Hart at Summerslam 1997, when a piledriver went wrong. Given their previous classic matches, particularly two at prior WrestleManias (15 & 17), it was rather fitting that it was Austin and The Rock who squared off in The Rattlesnake's last match. With Austin having won their first two Mania encounters, Rock finally beat Stone Cold Steve Austin in their match at XIX. It was a very good match as well, not as good as their match at 17, but much better than their first one at 15. These two had great chemistry in the ring and The Rock eventually won after nailing three Rock Bottoms. Austin had some great Mania matches over the years, but Rock was his best opponent. After this, Austin continued in the WWE as the Co-General Manager of Raw for most of 2003, but since then has made sporadic appearances as s special guest referee in various matches, including three Manias since, and other one night appearances. Having his last match at WrestleMania was certainly fitting for the man who spearheaded the Attitude Era, breaking all sorts of records along the way and capturing the WWE title on six occasions.
