WWE: 5 Ways To Eliminate John Cena's "50/50" Crowd Response

2. Take John Cena Off Of WWE TV For Six Months

The reason to do this is create a situation similar to what happened in WWE when "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was paralyzed after a piledriver at August 1997's Summerslam pay-per-view. Though only gone from television in a significant role for three months, Austin's time away from TV allowed for the advancement of The Rock as a dependable main event player. Without having Stone Cold around, the equally charismatic and in-ring talented "People's Champ" was afforded the space to grow and shine. If WWE were to find a way to get John Cena off of TV for a period of time (and then have him return) a situation reminiscent of The Rock and Stone Cold both being main event players with significant crowd responses and box-office potential could exist. Removing John Cena from live television would create a situation wherein when Cena returned, it could be to assist a newly ascendant babyface like a Daniel Bryan, or the Uso brothers. The idea of Daniel Bryan's real-life marriage to Brie Bella being used in a situation wherein Bryan is in peril and Nikki Bella's real-life boyfriend John Cena makes a dramatic return to assist Bryan would be intriguing. As well, in casting Cena as a second-fiddle, it takes him out of the spotlight, which hopefully would allow him the ability to subtly curry the favor of the crowd.
