WWE: 5 Ways To Make Roman Reigns Split From The Shield Work

1. He Must Turn On The Authority

The Authority have been ruling WWE with an iron fist since SummerSlam in 2013. It was on that night that Triple H betrayed Daniel Bryan, costing him the WWE Championship. That moment began a storyline that continues now and has seen The Authority abuse their power like no one has since the days of Vince McMahon. So when The Shield is no more, what better way to make the split work for Roman than for him to openly defy The Game? One of the most unique traits about The Shield is that they cannot be intimidated. They cannot be pushed around and they will not back down from any one. This will definitely be the case when Roman goes solo and will put him in direct conflict with The Authority. Triple H relies on The Shield to be there whenever he needs them. He has used their strength and their ruthlessness from the very beginning to get what he wants from other Superstars. But when The Shield decided to put their hands on Hunter's Director of Operations Kane, they likely crossed a line that cannot be ignored. All three Shield members turning babyface may not be plausible but Roman making the change is almost certainly a sure bet. And when Triple H confronts The Shield in the middle of the ring, it should be Roman that bucks him. Turning on Triple H will be the moment that WWE fans will see what Roman is capable of. They will see him confront the most powerful man on WWE programming and they will not see him flinch. Hunter will have a reason to direct his energy toward revenge on Roman Reigns and fans will have a reason to cheer for their newest hero. For The Shield's split to work, Roman needs a huge moment that establishes him as a babyface. He needs to take on the biggest heel in WWE with all the same fearlessness and intensity that he shows as a heel. Roman Reigns needs to play The Game.
