WWE: 5 Worst SummerSlam Matches Ever

5. Nailz vs. Virgil (1992)

You have to feel sorry for Virgil. He wasn€™t awful in the ring, and for a brief period throughout his association and later feud with The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase he seemed like he might have a bright future. Starting off as a The Million Dollar Man€™s €˜body guard€™ his gimmick and storyline where he was treated bad and eventually rose up against Ted have overtones of a slave gaining their freedom from their oppressor. Virgil€™s face turn and winning of the Million Dollar Championship was unfortunately where Virgil€™s glory ended. In the time following Virgil€™s defeat of The Million Dollar Man, Virgil barely won and was donned with one of the most jobberific costumes to grace the squared circle. Predicatbly, he was completely squashed by Nailz at SummerSlam 1992. Nailz, whose gimmick was that he was a former convict who still wears a prison jumpsuit and strangles his opponents had been involved in a feud with The Big Boss Man, and poor Virgil was just cannon fodder along the way to put over the crook. Before the match itself Virgil cut a promo where he stated that he€™s too legit to quit before losing via a submission hold. In fairness to Virgil, the referee seemed to just instantly stop the match without Virgil actually quitting or being counted out. The match was fairly short with the future €˜Vincent€™ hardly getting any effective offence in. This really was a match that wasn€™t worth your money.
