WWE: 6 Best Black Wrestlers Ever

5. Ernie Ladd

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vji5hJl7ovQ The "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd was before my time, so while I don't have any personal experience of watching him in the ring, it's hard to ignore his credentials. As the WWE video that aired on Raw this week showed, Ladd was a star athlete in both basketball and American Football. When his American Football career ended, he moved on to a career in WWE. He was the first man to go from football to WWE and do so seamlessly. What made Ladd stand out what his athleticism. For a guy that was 6'9" and 300 pounds he could really move around the ring well. He was known for having matches with other bigger wrestlers like Gorilla Monsoon and Andre the Giant among others. Even though Ladd didn't win any major titles in WWE, his influence was still felt because he was a star on the football field and in the wrestling ring, which opened the door for others to try to do the same thing. Most people can't do it, but Ladd did it and he succeeded along the way. Ernie Ladd will always be remembered as one of the best athletes in WWE history and he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995.
