WWE: 6 Internet Favourites That Made It To The Top

1. Chris Jericho

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpNmTNkuYQA Chris Jericho is the most beloved internet wrestler ever in part because he was one of the first guys to really be interactive with fans on the internet. I can remember back in 1998 when he would write commentaries on his website ChrisJericho.com all the time. They weren't called blogs back then. That term didn't exist. People like to joke about how Jericho invented everything because of that promo he did a few years ago, but in this case it can be argued that he invented the idea of wrestlers having website, writing blogs and interacting with fans on the internet. If you follow him on Twitter, you can see he's very active on there as well. Jericho's smart because he knows the best way to market yourself is by putting in the effort on your own. You can't always rely on others. When Jericho debuted in WWE in August of 1999, the internet exploded. Why? Because we watched him suffering in WCW. It was obvious that as a guy in his late 20s that had all the tools in the world, he should be elevated to another level. He was even cutting promos against a top guy like Goldberg, so we figured that he would get elevated to that level. Nope. This was WCW. They were terrible at elevating talent, so all fans really wanted was for his contract to run out. Then he showed up in WWE, had a promo face off with a top guy like The Rock in his first night and showed right away he belonged. The reason Jericho is liked so much by fans online and pretty much everywhere is because we appreciate hard work. It's as if he never stops. When he was wrestling he was also working with his band Fozzy. Now Fozzy is a lot bigger and successful to the point that they go on tour all over the world. While he's also doing the Fozzy stuff, he managed to do an online comedy series and recently he started a great "Talk is Jericho" podcast with two new episodes every week. He's the definition of a workaholic. His wrestling career speaks for itself. He's won both World Titles in WWE (even the WCW Title), more IC Titles than everybody else and so many successful feuds with the biggest names in wrestling history. He's one of the best wrestlers ever and the guy that internet wrestling fans can always point to as one of their guys that truly made it.
