https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wroqcQVcoIg If you want to know why CM Punk is so beloved by internet fans, just look at all the attention he's received since he left WWE after the Royal Rumble. It seems like every week there are rumors from wrestling sites about when we might see him again while fans are constantly coming up with fantasy booking ideas. What if he shows up at WrestleMania or the next night on Raw? We don't know if he will, but we know it would be cool if he did. The reason there is such admiration for Punk is because he's another guy that worked for everything he got. Based on his talent, he should have been in WWE years before 2006. They probably knew it too, but because of his look and perhaps a surly attitude at times, they were reluctant to bring him. All those stories about them not wanting him or wanting to fire him, they were likely true. Fans started to appreciate Punk in his ROH days because they saw him grow as a performer. He wasn't just a great talker. He evolved into an excellent all around wrestler too. When he got to WWE he was ready, but there was always a question of whether they would let Punk be Punk. The Chicago crowd is the best wrestling crowd there is and on that night they lost their minds (as well as their voices) rooting on CM Punk as he won the WWE Title against the wishes of Vince McMahon. It was a storyline that felt all too real as an internet favorite became the biggest star in WWE on that night. Now that Punk is gone, there are some mixed feelings. Some people think he should stay away if he wasn't happy while others just assume he'll be back because in the wrestling business everybody eventually comes back.
