WWE: 6 Misconceptions Your Parents Still Have About Wrestling

5. Hulk Hogan Is Still An Active Wrestler

The funniest thing about some of the arguments that are voiced from the older generation who do not understand our fascination with the art known as professional wrestling is that they continuously refer to Hulk Hogan in their rebuttals. And right there is why we really can't take their insults and rhetoric too seriously. And it should be noted that they really never heard of Hollywood Hulk Hogan or the nWo, or even WCW for that matter. No, their argument is based on the perception of the WWE circa 1986-92 and during the peak of Hulkamania. Which when you consider the simple fact that this was now almost 30 YEARS AGO, makes whatever they say completely invalid. Yes, many aspects that made the 80's so great have remained in the modern version of the WWE but comparing the two eras is like comparing chalk and cheese. Professional wrestling has evolved so much that if you took a fan straight out of the 80's and plopped them in front of RAW circa 2014, they probably would not even recognize their favorite product. And thinking that the immortal Hulk Hogan is still dropping leg drops on a day to day basis in 2014 really shows just how out of touch their mindset is.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
