To reiterate a personal point that I made earlier. I have been watching the WWE for three decades now. In fact, 2014 marked my 30th year as a viewer of sports entertainment. And to this day, my own parental unit still believes I will grow out of it. After 30 years. And you know, I could throw so many legendary names out at you who not only wrestled but who were wrestling fans right up until the day they are summoned into the next life. Not to mention the ones that are still alive and kicking, like Terry Funk or Ric Flair. But I think the best example I can use that defines our obsession and why we never will grow out of it would be by naming a single superstar that recently passed at the age of 91, Mae Young (R.I.P.) This truly amazing and inspirational woman in all aspects of life began her professional wrestling career at the age of 15 and was involved in some form or another right up until her death. In fact, for those who may be unaware, she had a successful comeback in the WWE back in 1999 at the ripe old age of 76 and lasted until she was 80. Mae Young was the true definition of a wrestling fan for life. And she never grew out of it. Just like many of us out there. The WWE has transcended beyond just simple wrestling. It has become an iconic part of not only pop culture but history itself. It is a community, a way to make new friends and a chance to escape the drudgery and horrors of everyday life. And it is a shame that a lot of our parental figures just don't seem to get it and never will. I myself started watching professional wrestling when I was 6 years old and if whatever Deity you believe in allows it, I will still be watching when I am 96. Just like many of you. And I can assure you of one thing, if by some medical miracle my mother is still alive when I am 96, she will still be chastising me for being a fan of professional wrestling. DAMN YOU HULK HOGAN!!!!
Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life????
All demos, no albums ;)
