WWE: 6 Reasons Why Ratings No Longer Matter

6. WWE Is A Global Entity

Antonio Cesaro What everyone in the United States seemingly forgets is that they are not the only ones watching the WWE. The company has made the leap from US wrestling federation to global corporation quite some time ago now and there are markets that most people don't even realize exist. I have friends from all around the world that I discuss wrestling with. Countries that you would never even think of have WWE Raw showing on their tv screens. I speak with people from Thailand, The Netherlands, not to mention my own country of Australia and they are all mad for it. Lets use India as an example, the home of a billion people no less. The WWE is having a surge of popularity never heard of before in that part of the world. And the thing about people from there (not to mention surrounding countries like Pakistan and nearby Sri Lanka), when they become obsessed with something, they take it to a whole other level. For those outside the US that follow cricket, you know exactly what I am talking about. If you have a country of a billion people obsessed with your product, there is an endless supply of revenue that will never stop, regardless of the ratings in your home country. Speaking of obsession....

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
