WWE: 6 Superstars And The Weapons They Made Famous
6. The Fork - Abdullah the Butcher The Madman from the Sudan is the undisputed holder of the nastiest forehead in wrestling award. It's not even close people, please don't try and argue that point. Mick Foley has told stories about when he was in casinos with Abdullah and he would place casino chips in the gouges in his forehead. That's quite a scary looking head. Anyways, for those who have never had the privilege (or nightmare) of seeing Abdullah wrestle, or only know him from the Wrestlecrap inducted WCW Chamber of Horrors match, the Butcher is one of the most famous hardcore wrestlers of all time. He tipped the scales at well over 300 pounds and eventually became the proprietor of a chain of rib houses. Therefore, it is appropriate that everyone's favorite Canadian wrestler turned Sudanese madman's weapon of choice was a dinner fork. You read that right, one of the "originators" of hardcore wrestling's preferred weapon of choice was what you used to eat your pasta salad for lunch today. Man I love wrestling. However, in the hands of a Canadian wrestling as a Sudanese sadist, the fork was a dangerous implement responsible for spilling gallons of blood over the last 40 plus years. However, it is my personal opinion that one of the reasons Abdullah made the fork famous is because he was such a good worker that he knew exactly how to work the fork to its fullest potential. Now I don't mean he was working the stabbing of his opponents head. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Abdullah was just full on stabbing people in the head with it. It sure seems real to me. What I mean is that Abdullah the Butcher knew how to work his gimmick. Everyone and their mom knew that he had a fork hidden somewhere on his person at the beginning of a match. Try and find some old tape sometime of Abdullah letting the entire audience know he had said fork, but masterfully keeping it hidden from the referee during the now extinct prematch foreign object check. Butcher created more heat from hiding a foreign object than most wrestlers get from using a foreign object. A true master of his craft.
