4. The Chair - Tommy Dreamer/ Funk and Foley
Sorry for a cop out, but I can't just choose one of the moments as making the chair famous. Both are such vivid memories in my head, that I have to talk about both of them. The scene was ECW Heatwave 1995. The feud that would not die was still in full force. Tommy Dreamer vs Raven. Poor Tommy just couldn't get the job done. Raven always squirmed away from Dreamer, now matter how many times he tried to beat him. Sure, Tommy got to beat on Raven from time to time, but the W eluded him for the majority of this feud. A true testament that if a feud is built properly, the win-loss record doesn't matter. On this particular night, Dreamer exacted a measure of revenge against Raven with a piece of metal that has become a wrestling standby. On this night, Raven found himself handcuffed in his trademark crucifix pose. With a shout of "E. C. W!" Dreamer completely demolished Raven. With good reason, many refer to this as the chairshot heard round the world. However, the 2nd moment from ECW 1995 is the one which in my mind will always represent the chair. During a match between the Public Enemy and Terry Funk and Mick Foley, Terry Funk asked a fan to toss him a chair. Which he did. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, so did several other fans. In fact, dozens of chairs came flying into the ring, almost decapitating Funk and Foley, and burying Johnny Grunge and Rocco Rock under a ring full of folding chairs. When I think of folding chairs, these two incidents are burned into my brain, especially since they make pretty much every ECW video package.
Other wrestlers: pick one, there are plenty of them. I would say Stone Cold was one of the most prominent, especially in the Attitude era. Also, Edge with the conchairto.
