Welsh Batista. Need I say more? So far, we've only looked at potential replacements from the main roster. Which is fine, but ultimately, not as realistic as the alternative, which is taking possible recruits from the place where The Shield came from in the first place, NXT. Mason Ryan has been languishing in the developmentals ever since The New Nexus was abandoned by CM Punk due to "the pipebomb" But in his day, he took on the likes of Kane and The Big Show. In the 2011 Royal Rumble, he eliminated The Great Khali by himself, so he definitely has "Big Guy" credentials. He's a former FCW champion, an accolade which has also been held by Seth Rollins. Could he be the one to replace Roman Reigns? Its very possible..... He has equal, if not greater strength than Reigns, he stands a few inches taller, which could help to sell Reigns as the underdog in what would probably be a handicap feud where he needs to overcome the odds to truly break away from his former teammates. And lets not forget the importance of fitting in, he'd look right at home in combat boots and a stab vest. Mason Ryan is due a return to the big time in the future. But I think the key here is "in the future" He has a little bit more time to kill in NXT before jumping back up, in my opinion Odds: 7-1
