WWE: 7 Divas Who Should Have Never Held The Title

7. Eve Torres

To provide some insight into the climate of the Divas division at this time, Eve won a "Dress to Impress" battle royal to get this title opportunity. She won the title €“ her first of three reigns €“ on April 12, 2010 against Maryse. Now Maryse is no catch-as-catch-can ring technician either, but she seemed a lot more comfortable in the ring than Eve (not to mention, Maryse's heel antics gave her a huge advantage in terms of screen presence). For this first title win, Eve's wrestling leaves a lot to be desired. She comes off looking like she's counting out the steps in her head. She gets the job done, but there's no fluidity to it. This paced-out and somewhat choreographed-looking style will haunt Eve for the rest of her WWE career. She showed more ferocity and confidence towards the end, sadly right before she left the company. But at this time, she had no business being crowned the best in the division. Or perhaps, it was indicative of how diluted the women's roster was with two title belts €“ as they were unified just 5 months later. As a beautiful, athletic woman with credentials in Brazilian Jiu-Jitzu, Eve was an ideal champion €“ on paper. In practice, she didn't exhibit the pro wrestling skills or have any unique character traits to which fans could relate.
