WWE: 7 Divas Who Should Have Never Held The Title

3. Brie Bella

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5LN-XU5arw If you watch the slow, sloppy match between Eve Torres and Brie Bella for the title (April 2011), you will wonder how they could even call it a championship bout. Brie's arsenal looks like that of a 12 year-old who needs anger management. After several flubs and a bit of Twin Magic, Brie executes her sit-out facebuster for the win. This marks a dark era for the Divas Championship, as Brie wins it from Eve and loses it to Kelly Kelly two months later €“ it's a list of champions that does not inspire confidence whatsoever in the women's division. We've already discussed the merits of having a Bella twin hold the Divas belt. If you're going to have them work the press circuit anyways, the title adds sparkle (literally) and prestige (if you've never seen them wrestle). But I would argue that having a credible wrestler hold the title gives the title more merit, and therefore the company more credibility, when it sends champions out to represent them. The notion of a 'champion' couldn't be more comical than during Brie's match against Natalya on SmackDown (May 20, 2011). It's the equivalent of Natalya wrestling a broom, and Nattie puts on a clinic doing so. It's as if she decided to show off her wrestling skills regardless of what else was happening in the ring (and there was very little happening on Brie's part). You wouldn't need a hand full of fingers to count Brie's offensive moves, but sadly you can count to three when she pins Natalya.
