WWE: 7 Genuine Examples Of Triple H Doing "What's Best For Business"

1. Making Batista A Star In 2005

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vnUTa14Xw4 It was one of the best built up feuds in WWE when it happened and as we look back on it now nine years later it still holds up very well. The seeds were planted in late 2004 when Batista was an emerging star in the Evolution group that was fractured by that point since Randy Orton had already split from it. When the 2005 Royal Rumble took place, most fans figured it would be Batista or John Cena that wins the match. They were the obvious chosen ones at the time, so after they made the final two and Batista emerged victorious, the stage was set for the feud with Triple H, who was the World Champion at the time. The build to the match was some of Hunter's finest work as he did a great job as the paranoid World Champion that was scared of "The Animal" Batista. Even though he was the champion, Hunter was scared going in and Batista ended WrestleMania 21 as the new World Heavyweight Champion. What was great about the feud was that Hunter actually put him over clean three different times. In addition to WrestleMania, Batista also got the win at Backlash and then a couple of months later in a Hell in a Cell match at Vengeance. It was the Hell in a Cell match that was really the defining match in their story because it meant that the rivalry was over. It was also the best match they had too. Hunter has had many awesome adversaries in his career, but it's the story that he told against his former ally Batista that was the best of them all.
