WWE: 7 Matches That Were Too Painful To Watch

1. Mick Foley vs The Undertaker - King Of The Ring 1998

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVbX5ehC_8M "As God as my witness, he is broken in half!" - Jim Ross What the hell just happened? I still don't understand how Mick Foley survived the Hell in a Cell fall, how he was able to walk and how he was able to compete in a very physical match that went about 17 minutes. When watching that bump off the cell through the table, it's amazing that he wasn't seriously hurt even more. He did the right thing by taking the bump on his shoulder and upper body area, but it was still crazy for him to think about doing in the first place. That was just the first fall, though. There was another one. The second one may have been worse! Foley went to the top with Undertaker, there was a steel chair on the top of the cage and Undertaker gave him a Chokeslam through the cage that sent Foley crashing into the ring. He kept wrestling, though! There was that famous clip of when the tooth was in his nose and his face was bleeding. It was one of the craziest moments in the history of wrestling. It was one of those moments where it made somebody a bigger star because the fans admired him for the ass kicking he was receiving. Usually it's the other way around. Fans usually cheer the winners. In this case they cheered the loser because he had won their hearts with his toughness. What was amazing about the match is you could see the pain that Foley went through. It looked to be the most painful match in WWE history. In many ways, it probably was. Then the guy showed up the next day for work. How? Only Foley knows. It's just one of those things where a guy was able to withstand a ridiculous amount of punishment and did so in front of a huge audience that respected him so much for what he did. Foley's ability to work through the pain is admirable. It is also something that may never be topped. Working through pain is part of the business, but there will likely never be another guy that goes through what Foley did at King of the Ring 1998 in the Hell in a Cell match against Undertaker. That's definitely a good thing.
