WWE: 7 Possible Plot Twists For Elimination Chamber 2014

7. Batista Costs Daniel Bryan WWE World Championship

To say that Batista's return to WWE has been somewhat mired in controversy could be the understatement of the very young year. It all began well enough, with vignettes being shown on Monday Night Raw that heralded his return. Speculation ran rampant online as to just who's side he would be on, mostly because his mentor Triple H was now running heel in The Authority. The issue of what his role would be in the company and what sort of impact he could have not only in the Royal Rumble but at WrestleMania 30, was of course heavily debated among fans. Interest among the WWE faithful was high. And when he did enter the ring on January 20, got down on his knees and kissed the canvas, that interest seemed highly warranted. This was a guy that was glad to be back and that single moment of respect shown to the business did bode well for his immediate future. But when he won the Royal Rumble and then reportedly made obscene gestures to the crowd as they chanted Daniel Bryan's name, that sign of respect was completely gone. The man that loved the company and was happy to be back in it was replaced by an egotistical outsider that was totally out of touch with the current WWE product. And that view of Batista has continued, even though he is booked to face one of the company's former top heels in Alberto Del Rio at the Elimination Chamber. The fact is that a good number of fans don't want Batista now. And they especially don't want him to headline WrestleMania 30 in April. So will the crowd's disapproval of The Animal lead to WWE rewriting his character for the next few months? Could Batista somehow interfere in the Elimination Chamber match? Could he manage to distract Daniel long enough for perhaps Randy Orton to gain the advantage and cost Bryan the title win? Daniel's underdog character has been fighting the WWE corporate machine since the night after SummerSlam in 2013 and in that time, The Game has used every weapon he has to stop Daniel's forward momentum. Will his old Evolution protegee be that next weapon? The truth is that when it comes to Batista, no amount of speculation can possibly predict what could happen next.
