2. The Finish

The actual conclusion to the epic encounter is still the best and most innovative finish to a ladder match in history, even though there's been 20 years worth of others attempting to top it. In recent years we've had unique ladder match finishes, including tug of wars on top of the ladder, the belt falling from the hook and it being caught -but they don't seem to be as good in comparison. In the closing minutes of the match, Shawn had laid Ramon out with a piledriver and then an attack with the ladder. HBK was climbing the ladder and seemingly was going to win. Ramon got up though, shoulderblocked the ladder sending Michaels into the ropes. Shawn got hooked up in the ropes, allowing Razor time to set the ladder up and win the title. The crowd's excitement when Shawn was tangled in the ropes was at it's peak, because they knew it would be Ramon's best chance of victory. The race between Shawn getting free or Razor getting the titles was exciting, and it made both men look strong.
