5. Buried Careers: The Best Of Triple H

It's truly amazing how many Superstars this guy has effectively "buried" or refused to job to throughout his insatiable quest to convince everyone he is great. It really is the whos who of wrestlers that have felt the iron vice grip that Trips has over the WWE at the present time. Goldberg, RVD, Chris Jericho, Booker T, Randy Orton, Kane, they have all fell by the wayside because of this man and his huge ego. This actually has happened again in recent times when he refused to job to Curtis Axel even though they were trying to elevate him into the main event strata. It basically killed his push with a single dizzy spell. Lets talk specifcs. Booker T was on the verge of WWE legendary status (not that he already wasn't) back in WM 19. He had everything going for him and the fan base to boot. All it would have taken was a title win at Wrestlemania no less. But Triple H couldn't do that and even though Booker T hit more finishers than Rock vs Cena 2 Trips still couldn't be pinned. I saw this at the cinemas with a bunch of Australian pro wrestlers and all of us were in complete shock that Trips did not drop the title. You can add to that RVD from the same period. Exact set-up, ready to be in the main event, had to draw power and the fan base, but nope. Now some of you might say "that was a few years ago now". So let's talk about something a little more recent. To this day I can't fathom why Vladimir Kozlov was fired out of nowhere. He had the skill, the talent, he had finally won over the crowd, was extremely charismatic for someone who didn't speak English all that well and had proven himself someone whom was main event caliber. But the Triple H regime saw fit to fire this guy. For what I have no idea. This is the definitive example of Triple H's backroom dealings when it comes to burying someone's career. Now although I could use this entire page to name off this list, there is one that I would like to focus on, that one also happens to be my personal favourite (although my reasoning is completely non biased), the big red monster Kane. The travesty that was Triple H not dropping the gold to him back at No Mercy, 2002 was a lot more controversial and cringeworthy to me then the Katie Vick story that led into the match. Kane was on the verge of finally becoming the Main Eventer he was always meant to be, ready to break out of the Undertakers shadow and solidifying his position of greatness right next to his infamous brother. And we all wanted it to happen this time for regardless of what you may think of him, he is truly one of the great "workhorses" of the WWE and deserves every title shot he has ever been given. After the truly embarrassing storyline that literally sent people running for the off switch, it was even more deserved. But no, Trips could see past his huge nose and won the championship with AGAIN, the help of a stable. My God this was the moment for me where my hatred for this supposed superstar reached its crescendo. For this decision was NOT good for business in any way shape or form. The Katie Vick storyline damaged the WWE in ways that still resonate to this day. But it was all salvageable if they only gave Kane the title. And don't blame "Creative" on this either. Triple H was part of the McMahon family unit at this time and I am 100% sure that if he truly did not want to take part in the "necrophilia" angle as he claims in the "McMahon" documentary, , the billion dollar princess would've stamped her foot and kicked up a stink until she got her way. She is after all "daddy's little girl".
