Why is Bray Wyatt already such a big deal in his first full year in WWE as the Wyatt character? Is it because of his in-ring ability or his promo ability? The answer is his promo ability. That's not to say he's poor in the ring. He's not. The most positive thing that happened at the Royal Rumble last week was the breakout of Bray Wyatt as a singles star. He showed that he could hang with the great Daniel Bryan and put on an awesome match. He showed that he belonged. That's nice to know, but don't forget what brought him to the dance. The character of Bray Wyatt is one of the most interesting new performers in WWE in a very long time. As I've mentioned before, too many characters look, walk and sound the same. Not Wyatt. He is different. The look makes him stand out, the rocking chair in the aisle is weird and his "follow the buzzards" catchphrase is also something we're not used to hearing. His confidence is really high too. You can hear it in his voice. He believes in what he's saying and doing while maintaining that little bit of insanity to make the fans watching at home fear him. When he talks, people listen. Why? Because you never know what he might say. He might talk about the mythical Sister Abigail (or is she real) or maybe he'll mention "the devil" that made him do it. He even mentioned his father at various points, which some people take to mean IRS (his real dad), but that's unlikely. Now that Wyatt is apparently locked into a WrestleMania feud with arguably WWE's biggest star in John Cena, the pressure will be on him to deliver in terms of making their match important. His promos will be key. Wyatt needs to crank up the craziness, so to speak, because for him to really get over and shine as a future main eventer he needs to become that guy that fans pay to see just because he's different. I think he has the talent to do it. Now he has to prove it. Follow the buzzards and follow Bray Wyatt on his ascent as a main event player in WWE.
