WWE: 7 Things You Should Know If You Are Attending Your First House Show

4. There Aren't A Lot Of Promos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ1msqLo48k House shows are about the matches. You might see a promo where a heel rips on the local sports team to get heat, but other then that there aren't much in the way of promos. At the last house show I was at in September, Big E was still in the heel role. He ended up wrestling Damien Sandow. Prior to the match, Sandow did this two minute promo ripping on Big E for being an idiot just like all of us. It's the old wrestling trick where the guy in the ring says he's better than us and also better than the guy that he's about to face. That way fans look at the guy in the babyface role is as if he's one of us, so when he wins the match he's doing it for us because it shut up the loudmouth heel. It was also a good way for WWE to test Big E in the face role. There may be one or two pre-recorded promos from the backstage area because WWE has video screens at house shows now. They usually tape them during Raw or Smackdown tapings and then air the promos during the live events. It makes fans think that the person is cutting a promo backstage at the show. If you're a fan of in-ring action, go to a house show. There will be more of it at any WWE event except for a PPV. If you go to a Raw or Smackdown taping, you could be sitting through an hour of promos. At house shows it's not like that. In most matches, the babyface will win. That's not always true, but a lot of the time they design the matches to make the fans happy.
