7. Lose US Title In A Fluke Manner And Turn Heel As A Result Of That

Sheamus doesn't need the US Title to be a relevant performer. He's already a guy that has main evented major shows for years and he's established. What the US Title can be for him is a tool to further a heel turn. What they can do is put him in a match with an opponent like Dolph Ziggler for example. Right now Dolph isn't seen as a top guy, but at one point he was close to that and they could definitely boost him up by putting him in a US Title match with Sheamus. Perhaps they could have a spot where Sheamus is too overconfident, so Ziggler hits the Zig Zag out of nowhere and gets the pin to win. After the match or in a rematch, Sheamus could let his frustrations out by absolutely destroying Ziggler. They don't have to put the US Title back on Sheamus either. They can use it as a way to restart his career as a heel. It would make a lot of sense if it happened like that. It doesn't have to be Ziggler. It could be any number of babyface wrestlers. It could even be a heel wrestler if they wanted to turn that person face soon after.
