WWE: 7 Wrestling Sons That Surpassed Their Fathers

4. Randy Orton

Randy Orton is a third generation superstar, so it's fair to say that he really was born to be in the wrestling business. It's something he started doing when he was 20 years old after being trained by his father Bob Orton, Jr. His grandfather Bob Orton Sr. wrestled in the 1950s and 1960s and is credited as one of the first wrestlers to use the Piledriver as a signature move. He had two sons that became wrestlers. Some fans may remember the name Barry O (Barry Orton) as a jobber in the 1980s. They didn't want to use the Orton name because of Bob's involvement in the company. Randy's father Bob Orton Jr. went on to have a very successful wrestling career that saw him get inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame in 2005. He was most famously known for wearing a cast on his arm for years, which was a tongue in cheek way of mocking wrestling injuries. He was a part of the WrestleMania 1 main event as a friend of Roddy Piper and had a successful career as a midcard wrestler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbyeOPZHVvc Orton has become one of the most successful wrestlers of this or any generation. His biggest claim to fame is that he was the youngest man to ever become a World Champion at the age of 24. That may be something that will never be topped. Obviously, Vince McMahon and the creative team had a lot of faith in Orton due to the fact that they knew his family lineage. Orton has gone on to win a combined 12 major World Championships in his career and when you consider that he's just 34 years old he's likely going to add to that number.
