WWE: 8 Most Glaring Omissions From The Undertaker's Streak

8. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle - WrestleMania 22

At No Way Out 2006, Kurt Angle and The Undertaker had a fantastic main event match. It was considered one of the best matches of the year, and showed that somehow, Undertaker was getting better with age. But imagine how iconic the showdown would have been had it been held off until the very next pay-per-view at WrestleMania XXII. Instead, that night we got Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio. It was a nine minute match that saw Mysterio win his first title by pinning Orton, who wasn't even the champion. Perhaps they needed more time for the Miller Lite Catfight Girls pillow fight that followed. What a waste! And with Taker, we got a casket match with Mark Henry that just lacked any excitement. Even though WWE was apparently thinking of ending the streak at the time, no fan was buying that it would be Henry who could do it. According to a recent interview with Angle, Undertaker wanted to have a classic WrestleMania match and put him over. In hindsight, it would have been a terrible move as Angle would soon be out of the company. If Taker did win, though, that would have added a bit more credibility to the streak by taking out an Olympic gold medalist. Both men have proved they can have fantastic matches at WrestleMania, and this had the potential to be one of the best ever at the event. It's just a shame that we didn't get to see it.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
