WWE: 8 Major Injuries That Ended The Undertaker's Career

2. The Shoulder

Undertaker's very biggest issue is his shoulder injury. It has gradually became worse and worse. In November of 2010 Taker underwent examination of the chronic injury, only to be told the injury was so severe that surgery was no use. With surgical repair out of the question he should probably have retired, but instead rehabbed it to the point where he could perform. This is why he only works once a year, he needs the time to get the shoulder right. However, despite those reports of it being too bad for repair, he was reportedly booked for a rotator cuff surgery after WrestleMania 29. In addition to his right shoulder being worked on, the report was that he also had scheduled in some hip surgery. You can't put off the inevitable though. Undertaker clearly lacks the upper body strength he previously did, the strain of the hip, back and shoulder is just too much to take. As a result he looked older and smaller than ever at WrestleMania 30. He tried to work around the shoulder and chronic injuries, but they are so key to bumping and executing his move-set, he couldn't really avoid aggravating his pain. The match suffered as a result. The shoulder as much as anything has perhaps clarified in his mind that time is up.
