WWE: 8 Matches That Should Happen At WrestleMania 30

WWE Championship

CM Punk (c) Vs Daniel Bryan

Match 8 Do I think this match will ever take place? Not on your life and it€™s only following the last couple of week€™s I€™ve thought that this match could genuinely main event WrestleMania. We all know that CM Punk is ready for this but since Bryan has truly found his aggressive and intense side, his star has sky rocketed to the moon. Daniel Bryan is most definitely a top guy in the WWE. In my eyes, you put your two biggest stars in the main event at €˜Mania. Taking Orton and Cena out of the equation leaves these two gladiators and, seeing as Punk is such a dam fine heel and Bryan brings an air of legitimacy to the face contingence, this would be off the charts. If you have a small clue about wrestling you will have already sufficed that Daniel Bryan will be winning the Rumble in my Universe. I have no doubt that over the next months he will cement his legacy by becoming WWE champion and will carve his name in stone to said legacy with the Rumble win. Punk needs no introduction to the reasons why he deserves to be in the Main Event. He is likely the most over star in WWE at this time. He garners Boos and Cheers in (almost) equal measures. Just watch last week€™s Smackdown when his music was played to hear the biggest pop of the night. I would bill this match as the absolute epitome of Indy workers making it to the big leagues. Seeing as this is the Main Event of WrestleMania, I think a few rules should be broken and would push for WWE to request a business relationship with Ring of Honour as I have a couple of ideas on how this could go over huge. Firstly, I would have a hugely heel Punk come out and declare himself the new face of the WWE for the coming decade to leech off of the previous match€™s build. He goes on until he states he is the new corporate champion and has finally ascended the mountain. He also gets praise from Vince McMahon (who by this point would be a heel authority figure) and the two are shown as being €œfriends€. Bryan flippantly asks if he remembers where both of them came from and asks if he is discarding the huge building black of their career which was ROH! The next week I would try and have ROH run a show during RAW from the same city so that the two men can have a back and forth argument whilst Daniel Bryan is stood in an ROH ring. Declaring himself the king of the indy€™s and how he and no one else should ever forget where they came from and just who got them to the dance. Naturally Punk can rightfully declare that he alone made his name, not some 3rd rate promotion and he had to fight for everything he got. He would have to act a little spoilt and very cocky at this point to get the balance right. Whilst Bryan is in ROH he take on ROH€™s top heel in a match that can be shown on RAW to really stick it to Punk and make Vince absolutely furious that such €œCrap€ is being given the time on WWE television. With the show taking place in the same city, Punk will crash the party and beat down Bryan at the ROH show. Let face it, such an occurrence would cause shockwaves throughout the wrestling community and give ROH some genuine spotlight. WWE is not beyond promoting ROH as they have in the past and rightfully so! ROH will never compete with the big €˜E so why not help out like they did with ECW? but I digress; In the simplest of terms, it would be a match between the former top Indy guy corporate champion versus the pure Indy king. Daniel Bryan wants to fight the corner of those trying to make it whilst Punk wants to win to further his legacy and name. It€™s a familiar story in all walks of life. A great video package for the match would have the two akin to Rocky and Drago and Hart vs HBK but instead of training footage, we see Bryan€™s absolute best from the US and Japanese Indy€™s (with the streamers etc) but we see only Punk in WWE. I don€™t know how Punk would feel about this seeing as he genuinely loves ROH and the Indy€™s but I€™m sure he€™d be willing to do business. We€™d have set out in front of us for the first time in an unbelievably long time, the two single greatest pure wrestlers on the roster competing for the biggest prize at the biggest event of the year. It€™s so uncommon because the true pure wrestlers don€™t tend to have the best charisma or fan following. But it would be absolute sacrilege if WWE couldn€™t take this rarity and run with it full throttle. Winner: CM Punk The match will be immense of that there is no doubt and Daniel Bryan would have huge support on his side but, as I€™ve said previously, Bryan won€™t need this win to legitimise himself as he will already have held the WWE title earlier in the year. This is more about making CM Punk the best heel in the biz! The match would play out as we would expect with some serious grappling action. As the match goes on Punk simply can€™t seem to put Bryan away. He becomes desperate and starts breaking the rules; using weapons etc when the ref isn€™t looking but Bryan won€™t stay down for three! As Punk tries to lamp Bryan with a chair, the ref gets knocked own as Bryan reverses the swing into the No Lock! We see Punk tap out but without a ref. We see another of the officials make a beeline for the ring only to get taken out by either Vince or Heyman. Bryan though isn€™t stupid and keeps the hold on forcing Punk to black out. Bryan only relinquishes the hold when the aforementioned Vince / Heyman enter the ring and use the chair on Bryan. Punk is the first to get up and poses with the chair as we all see this ending with a chair shot flourish. As Punk swings to hit the recovering Bryan, Daniel dodges and begins his comeback routine by running at the turnbuckle, doing his backflip while Punk tries to hit him, he bounces off the rope and hits his big clothesline body check, he does this again and as he goes for the third, we notice Punk kept a firm grip of the steel chair during the comeback as we see him wind it up and crack Bryan as he launches full throttle into his manoeuvre. We see Bryan go limp and the ref getting tossed back into the ring. A simple 1-2-3 later and Punk retains to the dismay of the entire audience but Punk will forever be known as one of the best heels in the business. Personally though, I€™d have Bryan demand a rematch the next night on RAW and after the powers that be refuse, have the entire locker room threaten a work out unless the match is made. Once again, on the RAW after €˜Mania, we get a huge title change that will rock the arena! Once again I hope you enjoyed my WrestleMania 30 card. Let me know what you think as well as matches you€™d like to see. They could very well be matches I hadn€™t thought of that could make it into my next update.
