WWE: 8 Modern PPVs That Performed Miserably

2. Fatal 4-Way 2010 - 158k worldwide, 88k domestic

Fatal 4 Way PpvTop Matches: John Cena vs. Edge vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton; Rey Mysterio vs. Big Show vs. Jack Swagger vs. CM PunkGreat Match: Chris Jericho vs Evan Bourne Good Matches: Kofi Kingston vs Drew Mcintrye, 4 Way Raw Title , 4 Way Smackdown Title, Hart Dynasty vs. Usos/Tamina, Miz vs. R-Truth LameMatch: 4 Way Divas' Title This PPV came one week after UFC PPV UFC 115: Liddell vs. Franklin which achieved more than 525,000 North American buys. WWE PPVs broke the $40 mark starting with 2010's Royal Rumble. The June PPV was really the first event that felt the burn - Royal Rumble through Wrestlemania were protected by the enormous Road to WM momentum. Extreme Rules and Over the Limit were carried by strong Cena/Batista and Mysterio/Punk feuds. In a Wrestlemania rematch, Dave Batista and John Cena faced each other in singles matches. At Extreme Rules (112k domestic, 201k worldwide) and Over the Limit (121k domestic, 218k worldwide) they faced off in Last Man Standing and "I Quit" matches. Another Wrestlemania rematch at these events was Rey Mysterio and CM Punk facing off in singles matches with SES Pledge/Hair/Mask match stipulations. Fatal Four Way was when the programs ran out of steam. Batista was injured and didn't wrestle. When new Raw GM Bret Hart blandly announced Fatal Four Way it was clear that the concept of four men squaring off in a singles competition wasn't novel or unique enough to excite the WWE fanbase. FATAL 4-WAY 2010 FINAL VERDICT: Watch the Jericho/Bourne match. The rest of the PPV is actually decent.
