WWE: 8 Shocking Developments Since WrestleMania 30
4. Brotherhood At A Crossroads
This is a shocker not because its (seemingly) happening, but because of when. The moment Goldust and Cody Rhodes started teaming up and became Tag Team champs, fans wondered when they would turn on each other and we finally would get a true Rhodes brothers feud. They have teased it before, usually during the Royal Rumble, but theyve never had a real rivalry. When they lost the tag titles in January, it was widely assumed that WWE would start building toward a Cody vs. Goldust match at WrestleMania. Where else would such a match happen? But as the weeks rolled by, they never came to loggerheads although they were shuffled down the card and a feud was all but forgotten. Maybe blood is thicker than water. Then in the last two weeks, cracks have started to show in the Brotherhoods armor. A loss to the Usos and singles matches this week against Alberto Del Rio with different results Cody losing and Goldust winning and the seeds are clearly being sown. But the timing couldnt be more out of left field. (And just a random thought: Couldnt they do a Rhodes brothers feud without one of them turning on the other? Couldnt Cody just say something about needing to prove himself as a better wrestler and they have a serious but respectful rivalry? Turning one of them and it probably would be Cody given how things have played out so far doesnt seem like it will elevate either guy, itll just break up a solid tag team.)
