WWE: 8 Shocking Developments Since WrestleMania 30

3. Cena Yo-Yos Between Serious And Silly

During the Attitude Era, Chyna seemed to suffer from an identity crisis, changing from heel to face and back again between segments of the same show. It was just awful booking that screamed for some sanity. Welcome to the 2014 version of that, John Cena in the Bray Wyatt feud. From week to week, Cena (or the writers, depending on whom you blame) can€™t figure out whether he should be beaten down and creeped out by Wyatt and his minions or make fun of them before beating all three of them single-handedly. This went on in the lead-up to WrestleMania, but it seemed like in the final weeks that they had settled on being scared and intimidated. Sure, Cena rose above the cult leader at WrestleMania, but they were clearly not done with this storyline. Still, look at how Cena has interacted with Wyatt since Wrestlemania: April 7: Wyatt Family knocks off Cena, Sheamus and Big E. Cena sits on the ramp with a shocked face at the family€™s dominance. April 14: Bray continues to light up Cena via promo. Cena asks Wyatt, €œWhy so serious?... I want to try to have some fun.€ He then mocks Wyatt€™s attire and resorts to a WWE favorite, badly photoshopped pictures. April 21: Fans vote Cena into a 3-on-1 handicap match against the whole Wyatt Family. Super Cena lasts 14 minutes and nearly pulls out the win before a DQ ends the match. April 28: Cena opens the show almost despondent toward the crowd for throwing him to the wolves last week (teasing turning his back on them), then the goat children choir leaves him speechless for half the show. Later, he goes right back to the €œcrowd is divided, but I love and respect everyone for having a voice.€ He then talks about buying a donkey for Bray and Wyatt singing along with it before Cena beats him up. What€™s shocking about all of this is that they finally got on the right track in the weeks before WrestleMania, but the writers seem to have developed ADHD since then and thus nearly killed off any heat this feud had. At this point, getting Wyatt away from Cena as quickly as possible is probably the best play. It doesn€™t matter if Wyatt €œgets his win back€ at Extreme Rules. He needs to move on to a different feud.
