WWE: 8 Ways WrestleMania 30 Is A Modern Day WrestleMania 13

7. A Changing Of The Guard

Coming off the heels of the rather uninspiring €˜New Generation€™ era of the mid 1990s, the World Wrestling Federation headed into Wrestlemania 13 in a bit of a stopgap between the stars of the past and the new generation of stars on the cusp of breaking through.

Scott Hall and Kevin Nash had left for WCW, 1997 would prove to be Bret Hart€™s last with the company, less than a year later Shawn Michaels would go in to temporary retirement.

We look to the current day and once again a number of established stars look to be coming towards the tail end of their careers, for some Wrestlemania 30 could be their last.

The Undertaker goes in to Wrestlemania opposite Brock Lesnar and whilst he is more than capable of having the best match of the night, the fact remains there cannot be much left in the tank. Nearly fifty years old and with arguably only a couple of names established or fresh enough to challenge the streak this is going to be among one of the very last matches of his legendary career.

Speaking of Brock Lesnar despite only wrestling half a dozen times a year €˜The Beast' has proven he is among the most naturally gifted pro wrestlers the business has ever seen. After a near ten year absence Lesnar came back without missing a beat and had some truly outstanding contests with CM Punk and John Cena.

As good as he is though even Lesnar himself will be the first to admit he isn€™t in the mold of a John Cena; professional wrestling is not a true passion but a business to him. With his contract expiring at the end of the year, a family to look after and millions in the bank this could very well be the former UFC Champions last with the company.

Forever underrated Goldust has been delivering amazing performances since his debut over twenty five years ago. After a host of personal issues had seemingly ended his career, €˜The Bizarre One€™ has against all odds re-emerged better than ever

Alongside his brother Cody Rhodes, Goldust has reinvigorated what was a dead Tag Team Division. At 44 years of age however it is quite evident that Goldust was only brought in to teach and mentor Cody, The Shield and every other superstar who has had the privilege of stepping in the ring with him in the last year.

There is a good chance he will have a backstage role in the company for a number of years, for instance his ability and vast experience would make him a valuable asset as a road agent. As an on screen performer however Goldust Wrestlemania 30 may well be his last.
