4. Randy Savage
Now that Bruno Sammartino is finally in the Hall of Fame, there is no greater omission from the WWE era of wrestling than Randy Savage. A household name in the glory days of the late 1980s, and a feature of the Monday Night Wars in the 1990s, Savage was one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation, even dragging a classic match out of The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VII. However, despite giving him a warm on-air send off when he departed the Raw commentary desk in 1994, Vince McMahon has since seemingly harboured a deep personal grudge against Savage. The reasons for this have never been confirmed by anyone directly involved in the situation, but rumours continue to circulate as to why. While it would not be wise to state anything in this article, a quick trip to Google will tell you what that long-standing but unsubstantiated rumour is. Opinions may have softened since Savages untimely death in 2010, however, it was said that Savages wish had always been that the entire Poffo family, and not just Savage himself, would be inducted into the Hall. Although his father Angelo Poffo, and brother Lanny The Genius Poffo, did not enjoy such stellar careers as Savage, when the entire Von Erich family, including Chris Von Erich, are in the Hall, such an argument falls flat. In recent years, Lanny Poffo has stated that he would have no objection to his brother being inducted into the Hall on his own, but that he would want no part of it, stating in an interview last December, Leave me out of it. Dont invite me, and please dont pay me, because I dont need the thirty pieces of silver. The fact that a fan who attended a Raw taping in Green Bay recently was ejected from the building for displaying a "Randy Savage for WWE Hall of Fame" banner indicates that McMahon himself probably still bears a grudge against "The Macho Man" to this day.
