WWE: 8 Wrestlers Who Will Never Get Into The Hall Of Fame

1. Jeff Jarrett

A staple of regional Southern wrestling in the late 1980s, Jarrett debuted for the WWE in 1993 as €œDouble J€ Jeff Jarrett, with a redneck country singer gimmick. He would end all his interviews by spelling out his name €“ €œthat€™s J, E, double F, J, A, double R, E, double T!€ He became a highly popular upper-mid carder, winning the Intercontinental title. Jarrett flitted between the two companies during the Monday Night Wars, joining WCW in 1996, and returning to the WWE the following year, knocking WCW in his returning promo. However, when his main advocate, writer Vince Russo, left for WCW, Jarrett was itching to follow him, and in a CM Punk style quirk of fate, Jarrett€™s contract expired the day before WWE€™s No Mercy 1999 pay-per-view, while he was still WWE€™s Intercontinental Champion. Fearful of another Madusa style incident, Jarrett was allegedly able to hold McMahon to ransom, to ensure that he appeared on the show to drop the Intercontinental title to Chyna. Jarrett insisted in a 2006 interview that it was all amicable. But rumours have always circulated that he actually held McMahon up for a six figure sum to appear on the show. Jarrett was good to his word and wrestled a professional match, dropping the belt and departing the WWE for good. When McMahon bought out WCW in 2001, and that surreal simulcast between Raw and Nitro occurred, Jarrett€™s appearance in WCW was seen on a TV screen in McMahon€™s dressing room while Vince stated that he would now be spelling his name €œCapital G, double O, double N, double E€.goooone!€, making those rumours seem ever more credible.
