WWE: 8 Wrestlers Who Wore Out Their Welcome

3. The Miz

The Miz's theme song proclaims "I came to play", well most WWE fans probably wouldn't mind if he went to go play somewhere else for awhile. Maybe even out in traffic. There's just something a bit unlikable about Miz at his very core. It may have something to do with his reality TV background, or maybe it's his grating attempts at humor. But earlier in his career, Miz was able to use this natural crowd heat to his advantage when he was a heel. But as a babyface, he's a channel changer. Perhaps no WrestleMania main-eventer this side of King Kong Bundy has ever fallen so hard, so fast as Miz did. After losing the title at Extreme Rules 2011, Miz's career began to suffer greatly. Within just a few months, he was jobbing in short matches regularly. What he needed was some time off to make fans forget about his lousy push. Luckily, he did go away and filmed The Marine 3: Homefront. When WWE brought him back, he quickly resumed his jobbing ways, then turned babyface. It was a move that should have jump started a new chapter in his career, but instead he sunk to new lows. His turn didn't feel like a turn at all, as babyface Miz was the exact same as heel Miz. He was obnoxious, in love with his stale jokes and all-around annoying. He comes across as a 33 year old man who still acts like he's in a college fraternity. He's never grown up and has completely stagnated as a character. These days, most fans are probably hoping there's a long line of Christmas Bounty movies in production so he can maybe take a few years off from being in the ring in hopes of finding a less obnoxious character.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
