WWE: 8 Wrestlers Who Wore Out Their Welcome

1. X-Pac

x-pac In wrestling, the term "X-Pac heat" means that as a heel you're getting booed, but not in a good way. Fans aren't buying tickets to see you get beat up, they just want to see you go away. This unfortunate scenario started to happen to X-Pac (whom it was obviously named after) around the year 2001. It wasn't always that way. X-Pac was a popular underdog as the 1-2-3 Kid, and then became a man in the NWO with his buddies Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. When he jumped back to the WWF, he was over as one of the members of D-Generation X. Despite being an important part of the Attitude Era, he slowly lost all the momentum he had. It seemed to begin when he turned heel against Kane in a bad feud that dragged on and on. Then he led the lousy X-Factor stable with Justin Credible and Albert. It was a bad time for Pac. Soon, the WCW began to invade. Suddenly, every WWF star who was a heel became a babyface. Everyone that is, except for X-Pac. The crowds still didn't like him. They just wanted to turn the channel when he was on their TV. He seemed like a relic of a past era, even though plenty of his colleagues had been around longer than him. Perhaps Edge summed it up best when he famously told X-Pac "1998 called and they're getting sick and tired of you. Feel free to join us in the year 2001." It was hilarious, but true. No matter how hard he tried, everything he did never seemed to work. Despite always being a good in-ring worker, people were tired of him. At a last attempt at getting over, he joined the NWO again, but the failure of that angle only further damaged his career. Eventually, fans got their wish and X-Pac was gone for good. I hope you're happy!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
