WWE: 9 Famous Wrestling Retirements (That Were Total Lies)

1. Hulk Hogan (The Last Few Times)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sec9WsWXRxM Much like Terry Funk, Hulk Hogan seems to retire every few years and stays away from the business for approximately an hour. Following his WWF run, Hogan joined World Championship Wrestling and eventually became the leader of the New World Order. His run as that company's top heel was extremely successful and his feud with Sting led WCW to become the number one wrestling company in North America. Hogan, never one to shy away from publicity, saw all the attention Jesse Ventura was receiving for his gubernatorial win in Minnesota and decided to try to grab some of the spotlight. He appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in November 1998 and made two very confusing announcements: Not only was Hogan retiring from professional wrestling but he was also going to run for President of the United States. The whole thing was completely ridiculous and made worse when Hogan and Eric Bischoff held a press conference on WCW Nitro to confirm Hogan's candidacy. It was an obvious publicity stunt that no one with an IQ above 70 believed but Hogan loves when people talk about him. Much later, Hogan reignited his feud with Sting in TNA and cost him the world title in a match against Kurt Angle in 2011. Hulk announced his retirement from wrestling once again but Sting revealed it all to be a ploy by Hogan to get out of the match with Sting. Hogan is currently a free agent but rumors of him appearing for the launch of the WWE Network are running rampant. Rest assured that another Hogan retirement is always right around the corner.
