WWE: Analysis Of Every Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania XV - March 28, 1999

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvatrRIruSg Venue: First Union Centre, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Attendance: 20,276 Wrestlemania XV will forever be remembered as the first Wrestlemania in which the incredible Steve Austin/Vince McMahon feud played out on such a massive stage. The two rivals hadn't quite reached the stage of fighting each other one on one but sticking Austin against McMahon's chosen champion The Rock was a master stroke and began years of rivalry that was as huge as Hogan/Savage but simply in a new era. Wrestlemania XV will also be remembered for that hanging incident involving The Undertaker and Big Boss Man and the 34 second crushing of Bart Gunn at the hands of Butterbean. One of Vince's biggest embarrassments and an example of why things should not be unscripted on such a big PPV. Sadly this was Owen hart's final Wrestlemania before his horrific death. This year he was on the winning side teaming with Jeff Jarrett against Test and D'Lo Brown. This was also the first time a McMahon competed at Wrestlemania when Shane McMahon defended his European Championship against X-Pac. This would have been a much better 'Mania had it not featured Sable in a match (it was horrible) and hadn't wasted Mankind Vs Big Show but sadly the average rating was a mere 5/10 despite the main event.
