In the biggest match of the night The Rock went one on one with Hollywood Hogan who was making his first 'Mania appearance since 1993. In a massive error of judgement Rock/Hogan wasn't the main event. Perhaps no one anticipated how huge the match would be and how it would be Hogan's greatest match in his entire career. The fans in Toronto went crazy for The Hulkster despite him playing the role of heel and by the time The Rock's arm was raised in victory Hogan was a full babyface and had been dumped by his NWO stable mates Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. The actual main event of the night was Triple H defeating home town hero Chris Jericho for the Undisputed World Championship. The match was OK but by no means at Hogan/Rock standard despite the Canadian appearing in front of his home crowd. Stone Cold appeared about mid-card in a sloppy affair with Scott Hall that was quickly forgotten. Quite the come down for Austin. Elsewhere on the PPV The Undertaker had a surprisingly excellent match with Ric Flair to go 10-0 in his Streak, Kurt Angle and Kane had a surprisingly good encounter and Edge and Booker T showcased themselves in a quick 6 minute blink and you'll miss it match. Jazz Vs Lita Vs Trish Stratus was one of the best Women's division matches ever and was deserving of it's spot on the card even though no one remembers it.
