WWE: Analysis Of Every Wrestlemania

Wrestlemania XXI - April 3, 2005

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmD8c_xQxeQ Venue: Staples Centre, Los Angeles Attendance: 20,193 Two of WWE's up and coming Superstars made Wrestlemania their own this year when John Cena defeated John Bradshaw Layfield for the WWE Championship and Dave Batista bested his old mentor Triple H for the Heavyweight Championship. Both matches were strong considering the men involved but by no means the best Wrestlemania main events we've ever seen up to this point. The undercard was much stronger in fact with Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle wrestling for close to half an hour in a fantastic wrestling match that began the Wrestlemania trend of dream matches with no real motive except respect and who's the better wrestler. Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero opened the show in a typically good match while Randy Orton tried and failed to end The Streak. In a bizarre moment The Big Show and Akebono went toe to toe in a ridiculous looking Sumo match which sadly did little for Show's credibility back then.
